Who is Fanus Pienaar?

What's better than a deep boy with a guitar and a raspy voice. Fanus Pienaar is exactly that and much more with years of experience and deep roots in the music industry. His first solo album was released in 2012 with the title track Luister Na Jou Hart which became a huge success overnight with top positions across the country's radio rankings. The music video of Luister Na Jou Hart sponsored by Christo Gerlach also did very well on television and various platforms during the time. In his early years, Fanus performed in all the legendary venues such as the old Firkins Centurion, Eagles and other venues across Pretoria.

In 2012 he got a role in the film Fanie Fourie's Lobola as well as in the British television series Wild At Heart on DSTV's Universal Channel which started as an extra role and later turned into a physical role as a supporting character. Here Fanus gets the chance to work with local actors such as Richard Van Der Westhuizen and Thapelo Mokoena but also with international actors such as Stephen Tomkinson, Hayley Mills and Robert Bathurst. His passion for the entertainment industry and especially music is contagious and comes from a young age where he liked to listen to various artists and was very fond of music, Afrikaans films and TV series.

After a few years of silence, he reached out again in 2018 with Rigting Na Jou Hart, which was written by Werner Beukes and Vir My Land, which came from his own pen. During lockdown in 2020, he recorded Myne Noem and As Ek Superman Was, which was inspired by a relationship he was going through at the time. Fanus has done big festivals and shows from early in his career, one of which stands out during December 2020 where he got the chance to perform with the cream of the Afrikaans music industry in the Heartfelt Arena because of his song Vir My Land which then already gained a lot of fame across the country.

Fanus Pienaar is already a great musician and songwriter in his own right and his dynamic, energetic performances and songs testify to that. His warm and genuine personality steals the hearts of listeners across the country who come to his performances.
